Focused Orthodontics

Dr. Shinmachi is an Ivy-league (University of Pennsylvania) trained specialist in orthodontics, which means she did a post-doctoral residency in orthodontics for 3 years after dental school. She limits her practice solely to braces, Invisalign, retainers, and other orthodontic appliances.

Personal Orthodontist

Unlike some orthodontic offices, which have multiple doctors, several practice locations, and an assembly line of patients, we pride ourselves in having one doctor focused on individualized patient care at one central location. At every visit you will see Dr. Shinmachi, ensuring your treatment is progressing as best as possible. Our prime location gives you easy access to us whenever you need it — no searching for Dr. Shinmachi or staff across multiple offices! If you need us after-hours for an emergency, there is a doctor always on-call. We will never send your phone call to an outside answering service or call center.

Modern Practice

Our office was recently renovated! It is clean, modern, and completely digital. The technology we use allows faster, more accurate diagnoses, and more comfortable treatment. We have an iTero digital scanner, which is the scanner from the makers of Invisalign®. This avoids needing to take goopy molds/impressions of your teeth. The scanner creates a 3D image of your teeth in just minutes. There is no radiation, no messy impressions, and no gagging.

We also utilize digital photography, X-rays, and paperless patient charts for fast and easy communication with you and your dentist regarding your treatment. Our building has its own private parking lot as well.

Braces

Your first consultation is always free, and we will provide you with an upfront quote of our fees that is good for six months. We will thoroughly answer any questions you have about your insurance benefits and everything the treatment fee includes. We offer several payment options, such as fee reduction for pre-payment in full, no interest in-office financing, and flexible monthly payment plans. We participate with most dental insurance plans.

Convenient Office Hours

We respect your busy schedule, so we offer early morning and late-night appointments every week. All our appointments are appropriately scheduled so that you will spend less time in the waiting room and more time out enjoying the things that make you smile. We have monthly in- office contests and giveaways to keep you entertained each visit, too.

Our Orthodontic Materials

We use high quality orthodontic products. We purchase our braces, wires, and cement from dedicated orthodontic companies to ensure the highest quality and best technology. We have an in- house orthodontic laboratory for fast turn-around of our retainers and custom- fit mouth guards.

We do not market to the masses with bulk mailers or radio/video ads. Instead, we rely on our reputation and the generous referrals from families we have served to bring us new patients. If you see our logo or names around town, it is because we are supporting a charity organization or sponsoring our patients in a local sports team, arts program or other great activity. This past year, we’ve been proud to partner with organizations like Girls on the Run and the local Boy Scout troops.
